So I Don't Have a Thanksgiving this Year...

You may be pretty curious based on the title of this post. Of course my family does celebrate Thanksgiving, it happens to be a one of our favorite holidays. The difference this year is that I won't be around to enjoy the evening with loved ones. I work retail.

As more stores begin opening their doors on the actual holiday, I have become one of the young adults who will be running the registers for all of your Thanksgiving and Black Friday deals. I work at an Ulta location in Cleveland so we get pretty large crowds from multiple cities as well as the outdoor shopping center across the street from our store. Since I won't be celebrating Thanksgiving this year I've already switched over into preparing for Christmas. My family may be sad that I won't be there to sit around the living room watching a rerun of the Westchester Dog Show, but all things considered I'm actually looking forward to working that night! I thrive in high-intensity and busy situations so a crowded store with lots of customers needing assistance is where I'm most successful. It also doesn't hurt that I'll be getting paid to do this since everyone knows I'm rather broke while at school.

Overall, it isn't the end of the world to not get to celebrate Thanksgiving with my family this year. If you're bored and in the Cleveland area, feel free to come visit me!
