My First Social Media Audit

So we were given the assignment to complete an audit of various social channels from similar brands. I chose to evaluate Morphe Brushes, Jeffree Star Cosmetics and Anastasia Beverly Hills. When I was beginning to approach this assignment, I was rather nervous. I hadn't ever completed an audit of any form but knew that for the class I just had to do it. I spent a few hours going through mainly the Instagram pages for each of the brands to see where they got the most engagement, follower count and what type of content they choose to share with those followers. Each brand tended to focus on the products and their use, which was the type of content that also pulled in the most engagement. I compared each page's follower count compared to the timing of the posts, finding that each page posted two to three times per day with varying levels of engagement. It may have been intimidating to complete, but I'm really grateful that I had to complete this audit as a part of our course this semester. While each of the brands I chose to evaluate are really similar, I can understand how with more diverse options being compared you can really find ways to use other brands techniques to help improve your own platforms.
