All About Big/Little

Women in sororities look forward to this event all year. Getting to welcome new members into our families, staying up late and crafting in our dorms and trying to trick them into guessing the wrong person is exhilarating. Personally, I didn't take a little my sophomore year due to logistical issues as I was beginning the process of changing my major away from the College of Pharmacy. This year is different and I am finally in the position to take a little! We found out about our matches last week, and I would be lying if I said that I haven't spent a lot of time since then making crafts. At this point I'm pretty convinced that the people who work at Hobby Lobby in Lima probably know my name.

This relationship is about more than the copious amounts of glitter that I've found myself covered in recently. As a big, I have the opportunity to act as a mentor to a young woman that has inspired me to be a more positive light to the campus community throughout the few months I've known her. As I spend the next week and a half trying to trick her into believing that I'm not her big, I can't help but find myself overcome with excitement as I wait to finally be able to reveal myself! Stay tuned over the next few weeks to meet her!

  1. I'm so glad you are able to have a little this year. I have never been part of a sorority but I have a lot of friends who have been in them and they say it was the best experience during college. I can't wait for you to be able to tell your little who you are!

  2. Hello,
I am not in a sorority but I think this idea is something that is great! Having a mentor and a mentee both academically and socially to inspire and guide each other is something special! I am excited to see who your little is and how your friendship strengthens.
Thank you for sharing a little glimpse into Greek life and the activities that go along with it.
    Best Regards,
    Alyson
