Social Media for Live Events
When it comes to promoting social events on media such as Twitter we must consider the best ways to engage with our viewers. Chapter 7 in our text really gets into depth regarding smart practices in these matters, and how we can apply them everyday. I like to think this through for my personal account and the best way I would be able to optimize my event attendance/recognition. An upcoming event that I plan on live tweeting with the tips from our book is Ohio Northern University's Bid Day for Panhellenic Formal Recruitment! This is coming up on this Sunday, September 15 at noon.
I will be tweeting throughout the event, as I am reunited with all of the amazing women from my own chapter after spending the past few months as a non-affiliated recruitment counselor or Rho Gamma. My twitter will finally be back on public after going private to protect the identity of my given chapter, and I look forward to reporting on our day! This is the best day of the year for many greek women, and my live tweeting will help give those of my readers that aren't in the greek community a look into what we do, and why this day is so special to us! See ya Sunday!
Hello,
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed reading your blog post! I think for any event it is always good to have someone tweeting live and being a social media coordinator for an event! I have been a social media coordinator for a few events myself and that is really what others look to for information. I think the work that you are doing is very helpful to the Greek community and being there as a support of the social media side!
Thanks,
Alyson Hoffman
